Friday, March 2, 2018 - Have an amazing weekend!
Regular Math (Periods 1, 2 and 6)
Chapter 8 (Circles and Area)
Objective: I will demonstrate my understanding of circumference of circles and perimeters
of semicircles and composite figures.
Vocabulary: Composite Figure - made up of triangles, squares, rectangles, semicircles and
other two-dimensional shapes. See the examples in the TB on page 326.
Perimeter - distance around a figure.
Classroom: Chapter 8 Quiz (8.1 and 8.2).
Khan Academy when finished with the quiz.

Notes:
Honors Math (Period 7)
Chapter 7 (Real Numbers and the Pythagorean Theorem)
Objective: I will review square roots and cube roots.
Vocabulary: The square root of a number is the number that, when multiplied by itself equals the target number. Example: The target number is 64; the square root is 8 because 8 times itself equals the target number, 64.
A perfect square is a number with integers as it's square roots. Example: 16 is a perfect square because the square root of 16, which is 4, is an integer.
The symbol √ or is called a radical sign. It is used to represent a square root. The number under the radical sign is called the radicand.
The cube root of a number is the number that, when multiplied by itself, and then multiplied by itself again, equals the target number. Example: The target number is 8; the cube root is 2 because 2 times itself, times itself again equals the target number, 8. 2 x 2 x 2 = 8
A perfect cube is a number that can be written as the cube of a number. The symbol is located in the TB on page 296.
